Wishing you love and wonder, The PfP Board A Playground for Deir Ammar Preschool… In Loving Memory of Cynthia Laitman We are delighted and honored to announce the completion of a playground in memory of an extraoridnary and beautiful soul, Cynthia Laitman.   The project was made possible through the love and support of her sister, Judith Laitman, her friends, and the Madison, WI chapter of Playgrounds for Palestine.   Deir Ammar is a rural village in the West Bank, west of Ramallah, with approximately 3,800 inhabitants. On Monday, February 12th, 2012, Israeli bulldozers arrived before sunrise and without warning to the Palestinian neighborhood of Silwan in East Jerusalem to demolish a newly completed community facility. The “cultural café” was built with funds from Playgrounds for Palestine and California-based Middle East Children’s Alliance (MECA). PfP Board Playgrounds for Palestine is Proud to Announce Completion of “Abir’s Garden” Playground Our most recently completed playground, Abir’s Garden, was built in a small village on the southern-most edge of the West Bank, south of Hebron, called Al Samoa-Simya.  This is the second playground built in memory of a 10-year old girl named Abir Aramin, the daughter of Bassam and Salwa Aramin.  Bassam is one of the founders of Combatants for Peace where former Israeli soldiers and Palestinians who served time in Israeli prisons both of
