A Playground In Memory of Robert S. Mallouk

PfP is moving ahead with construction of a community garden and playground in loving memory of Robert S. Mallouk, through the generosity of his family and friends. The playground, located in el Bireh at al Yasmin Society will serve children of various abilities and will be accessible. Robert S. Mallouk of Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania passed away on March 28, 2013 at home. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Robert was the son of the late Salim Nicholas Mallouk and Sarah Klat Mallouk. He attended Adelphi Academy in Brooklyn. Upon graduation he entered Princeton University. WWII interrupted his studies. Robert was part of the …

Once again, you came and gave in the spirit of our shared commitment to children and their Right to Play.  Thank you! The evening was emceed by Sonia Rosen, with Nadim, her one-year-old son, helping out quite a bit.  Abeer Karzoun and Betsey Piette opened the event with introductory remarks in Arabic and English, followed by a delicious dinner catered by Oaklane Diner. Hanan Urick gave a wonderful presentation about her trip to Palestine and showed images of the sites we are working on now. Sinjil, Flying Paper, Olive Oil

  Can’t see images? Click here to view in browser  PfP Is Happy To Announce… Another Playground Built! …this one is in Sinjil, a remote small village in the Ramallah District. Sinjil KG is owned and run by the Women’s Charitable Society.  It accommodates ~180 children and has 10 teachers.   In addition to erecting this playground, PfP contributed to the renovation of the KG, including tiling the floors, painting walls, and updating toilet facilities used by the children and staff.  All work was done in coordination with The Welfare Society.   For more information and photos, click here. PfP would like to wish you Eid Murbarak!

Dear PfP Supporters, PfP would like to send you wishes for peace, fortune, and blessings on Eid ul-Adha. Also, we’ve been quiet lately because we’re working feverishly on a lot of exciting projects, which we’ll share with you soon! As a preview, we’ve developed a new paradigm to build better playgrounds, each designed to meet individual community needs in a more economical and sustainable way. We will also unveil a new sports pilot program that will involve older teens from the Palestinian Diaspora mentoring and coaching young soccer teams in Palestine, starting in Nablus.
