. . . helping children reclaim their childhood

April 2012

We kicked off this beautiful Philadelphia spring with our fabulous fundraiser on Saturday 31 March at University of Pennsylvania’s Houston Hall.

Thank you again to everyone who came out to support the event and helped create such a warm and generous atmosphere – the spirit of familiarity, family, unity, and solidarity with Palestinian children that this event brings to our community is becoming legendary and we look forward to bringing that lovely feeling back for many years to come!

We have so many people to thank for making this event possible year after year – our generous sponsors, advertisers, silent auction and raffle donors, volunteers, and more. We could not pull this off without you!

An immense THANK YOU to the charming and beloved Dr Suad Amiry who drew tears, laughter, inspiration, passion with her gorgeous words. We feel so fortunate that her talk was our feature event.

Thank you to our beautiful entertainers, Sophia Stamatopoulou-Robbins and Tarek Ismail both members of Colombia University’s Dabkeh Troupe for a fantastic performance.

Thank you to our honorees, with whom we are so proud to be affiliated: Dr Lawrence Davidson & Janet Ketsenberg-Amighi, and Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP)-Temple!
Thank you to the many individuals and organizations that contributed to our very successful silent auction (see full list on our website)

To all of our faithful volunteers, spouses of board members who gave so much (Khamis Karzoun and Dave Kovalcik), we don’t know what we’d do without you!

Thank you to all of our advertisers!

And finally, to our Sustainers, for their faith in us and whose numbers continue to grow.

We look forward to seeing you for our next “PfP Family Reunion” in 2013, and will continue to work hard for you all, as we continue to Sustain Play into Another Decade!

With Love,
PfP

We are excited to announce the launch of an initiative we’ve been working on for a while. PfP established a school in Gaza for grades 1-5. We’re in our third week now of operation and it’s amazing. The school is a mixture of traditional and non-traditional learning. The first few days were focused on getting
